I was born and raised in beautiful Bavaria. Since it was clear to me early on that I wanted to become a veterinarian, I began my studies in Munich. In 2003 I came to Zurich as an exchange student and completed my studies at the Tierspital Zurich. This was followed by my doctoral thesis at the Tierspital Zurich, a master's degree at the University of Glasgow, my training as a specialist veterinarian for small animals (FVH) at the Tierklinik Aarau- West and additional training in acupuncture and nutritional therapy for small animals in Belgium (IVAS). With my specialization in palliative care at the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC), I am the first of currently two female veterinarians in Switzerland with this additional qualification. In the years of my work in different veterinary clinics and small animal practices I was allowed to accompany many four-legged friends as their veterinarian with a lot of heart and soul.

My motivation

Even if not for all, the visit to the vet is often associated with stress for our four-legged patients. This usually begins at home, during transport or at the latest when they arrive at the practice. Other people, animals, smells, perhaps previous experiences - even before our patients are with us, they have unnecessary stress and possibly fear. With my work I am able to reduce this to a minimum. Everyday life runs normally until my arrival, the examination and treatment take place relaxed in the familiar environment.

Especially when it comes to the most difficult step as a pet owner, having to say goodbye to the beloved four-legged friend, I can now hardly imagine any other place than home, where the animal was safe and loved all his life. And although each of these visits is sad and touches me very much, I feel honored to be able to accompany animals and their owners through this difficult time so personally.
